Meet the Family Behind Owen’s of Arranmore
Behind the doors of Owen’s of Arranmore is a family whose journey spans continents, landscapes, and seasons of life.
Thomas and Stacey, along with their family, are Texans who followed a calling that led them from the heat of Texas to the green heart of Ireland. Guided by Thomas’s Celtic roots and a shared desire for a life grounded in faith, community, and adventure, their story began long before they ever reached Arranmore Island.
From Texas to Wicklow
Their move to Ireland first brought the family to County Wicklow, where they spent five formative years building a meaningful life within the local community. During that time, they actively supported their local church and made it their aim to be a genuine asset to the people of Wicklow—particularly in Bray, which became home during that chapter of their journey.
Community had always been central to their life in Texas, and in Wicklow that value was carried forward and deepened through daily service, faith, and lasting relationships. Wicklow became a season where their commitment to connection and contribution truly flourished.
A New Chapter on Arranmore Island
One year ago, a new chapter began when the family felt called westward to Arranmore Island. Though new to island life, they arrived with open hearts, humility, and a strong desire to contribute positively to their new home.
Arranmore offered something distinct—a closeness to nature, a slower pace of life, and a powerful sense of belonging shaped by the sea and by one another. In a short time, the island has become a place of purpose, connection, and home.
Family, Growth, and New Adventures
As life has unfolded, the family has entered a new season. Their eldest son, now grown, has returned to Texas to begin his own adventure—carrying with him the values, experiences, and independence shaped by a life lived across two countries.
Meanwhile, life on Arranmore continues with the younger sons, who are embracing island life with curiosity and resilience, growing up surrounded by ocean, tradition, and a close-knit community.
The Heart Behind Owen’s of Arranmore
Owen’s of Arranmore was created as an extension of the family’s journey—shaped by years of welcoming others, serving their community, and opening their home to meaningful connection.
Their experience in Wicklow helped define the kind of hospitality they wanted to offer: sincere, thoughtful, and rooted in care for people. On Arranmore, that vision has taken shape in a guesthouse designed to feel like a home, where guests are welcomed into the rhythm of island life.
Where Texan Hospitality Meets an Irish Soul
At Owen’s of Arranmore, the warmth and openness of Texan hospitality blend seamlessly with Ireland’s deep tradition of storytelling and community.
Guests are encouraged to slow down, share conversations, and experience Arranmore beyond the scenery—through local insight, kindness, and moments of quiet reflection.
Living with Purpose
From Texas to Wicklow, and now to Arranmore, the family’s journey has been guided by faith, courage, and purpose. Each chapter has shaped not only where they live, but how they live—seeking always to contribute, to serve, and to build genuine connection.
Owen’s of Arranmore stands as a reflection of those values: a place grounded in hospitality, community, and the belief that life is richer when shared.
